Polished concrete floors
The continuous pavement of polished concrete, consists of the realization of a concrete slab, which after the processes of Pouring, Extended, Leveling, Vibrating, Fracking and Surface Polishing, result in a pavement of excellent qualities.
- Pouring of concrete, whose type varies according to technical specifications.
- Extended concrete, on the surface to be paved, to obtain the desired thickness.
- Armed with concrete, using mesh, to achieve the desired response to mechanical stresses.
- Added polypropylene fiber, to avoid retraction cracks.
- Leveling the concrete, to leave it level or create slopes.
- Vibrated concrete, using vibrating rule to achieve a compact mixture.
- Added surface hardeners, to give the desired surface hardness.
- Added surface dyes, to obtain the desired color.
- Fracking and Polishing, using special machinery, to achieve the desired finish.
The continuous pavement of polished concrete, can be made in different thicknesses, depends on several particular factors, being above all the necessary response to compression and resistance to flexo traction, also determines its thickness the need for slopes.
It is advisable that the thicknesses be limited to a minimum of 8 cm.
The expansion joints, are joints generated to absorb the expansion by temperature of the base material, the concrete, these joints having to completely separate the concrete slab throughout its thickness.
Retraction joints are joints generated to absorb the surface shrinkage tensions of the base material, the concrete, these joints having to separate only one third of the total thickness of the concrete slab.
The continuous pavement of polished concrete, according to the mechanical requirements necessary in each particular case, allows the reinforcement with mesh, thereby achieving a better response of the final product to the different requirements required such as resistance to compression, resistance to flexo traction.
The continuous pavement of polished concrete, allows the incorporation of polypropylene fiber, in the concrete, thereby reducing the risk of retraction cracks, which generates the concrete setting process.
The continuous pavement of polished concrete hardens superficially, by means of the incorporation in its superficial layer, by the sowing system, of cement, arid of quartz and corundum, in suitable proportions.
Finished Polished, the finish looks very smooth and vitrified.
Anti-slip finish, the finish has a rough appearance.
Semi-Polished finish, the termination is at a mid point between the two previous ones.
The standard colors are gray, green and red, these three being the ones that give the best final result.
In addition to these three you have a wide range of personalized colors.
The resulting pavement, obtains magnificent features, among them include:
Its good behavior to mechanical stresses, such as compression resistance and resistance to flexo traction.
Its good behavior to thermal stresses, being resistant to high temperatures.
Very low pavement maintenance once finished.
Ease of cleaning, which is carried out simply with water.
Huge durability as it inherits the durability characteristics of concrete.
The surface on which we execute the pavement must have a high degree of compaction, with a 95% proctor being desirable, with this we avoid problems in the pavement due to movements of the support.
It is advisable to avoid channeling, ditches and weak points in the support and in case it is not possible to avoid them, it is advisable to cover them with concrete.
It is advisable to stop work in case of extreme temperatures.
